My name is Milorad Zivkovic and I worked in higher education EdTech support environments for 7 years before enrolling in the MET program in January 2011. That advantage helped me pick up MET learning experiences quite fast! Even though working full-time and studying was challenging, I was a straight-A student and graduated in May 2015, and I continued to work on improving all aspects of EdTech in my educational environments. The crown of my successful MET journey was my e-portfolio; I chose to elaborate on quite an interesting metaphorical journey of me as the ship sailing through the MET sea with all 10 courses representing the seaports.
My name is Marwa Kotb. I created this e-portfolio to demonstrate my personal growth throughout the Master of Educational Technology (MET) program at the University of British Columbia and to reflect on the significant shift in my views and thinking that has impacted my path as a programmer in the technology industry.
My name is Harmeet Grewal and I'm a graduate of a Bachelor of Applied Communications in Professional Writing program who specializes in instructional design and technical writing. Since completing the Master of Educational Technology (MET) program at the University of British Columbia, I've worked as an instructional designer in higher education.
I have been a high school teacher in Victoria, BC, located on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen Peoples since 1998. In 1999, I won a continuing contract at the high school I graduated from and I have been working at Esquimalt High ever since. I have been teaching Mathematics, Physics, Scholarship, and Peer Tutoring during this time. It took me over four years to complete MET! Although I took longer than most, taking a single course at a time with most summers off allowed me to dive deeply into every course. This experience transformed me in ways I never thought possible!
I am a learning designer with over nine years of experience including curriculum development and instructing in a variety of formal and informal settings. I have conducted student focus groups, developed websites, learning management systems, and launched an art brand. When teaching, I aim to provide a safe and open learning environment empowering students to experience and explore their own learning style with a variety of information streams and individualized support.
